My name is Nick Sutton, owner of Sticks Woodshop. Here's a little insight into the story and the heart behind Sticks.
Growing up in central Minnesota, I learned to work hard, and held a number of jobs throughout high school and college - one of them for a local contractor. After high school, I continued my education at St. Cloud State University, in pursuit of becoming a music teacher. Three years into my pursuit, my heart just wasn't in it, and I realized my passion lied elsewhere. As I reflected on the direction I wanted to take in life, and the career path I was going to pursue, I knew two things - I love to help people, and two, I really enjoy building things using my creativity and craftsmanship. I also remembered how much I enjoyed working for a local contractor as a teenager. This drove me to pursue a career as a carpenter. I spent nearly a decade working for a few St. Cloud based contractors learning the trade and perfecting my craft. During that time, I always had a vision for starting a business, but was hesitant to take the leap of faith. |
As I continue to gained experience, in my career and personally, I realized life is too short to not pursue your dreams. That's why I started Sticks Woodshop.
